Adieu, Matata
Entre reggae et Zouk, le dance lover Jean-Christophe Matata aura réussi à apporter notoriété et succès aux rythmes et aux sonorités du Rwanda et du Burundi, sur la scène de la world music. Terrassé par une pneumonie à l'âge de 49 ans, Jean-Christophe Matata nous a quittés le 2 janvier dernier, en Afrique du Sud. Né en 1962 à Kinama au Burundi d'une mère rwandaise, il se lance dans la vie d'artiste chanteur à l'âge de 18 ans.Et devient rapidement une star locale grâce à sa chanson "Amaso akunda Ntabona neza" (les yeux amoureux ne voient pas bien) sorti en 1987. Installé au Rwanda jusqu'en 1989, il le quitte en 1990 pour s'installer en Belgique. Il a collaboré avec de nombreux artistes, dont cécile Kayirebwa.
